Touch the history of Bulgaria – Koprivshtitsa is one of the symbols of Bulgaria, famous for its architecture, history and houses from the Bulgarian Renaissance. The town is located on the Topolnitsa River in Sredna Gora, surrounded by centuries-old forests, clean streams and rivers. Koprivshtitsa is a real example of the best Bulgarian architecture with many well-preserved houses from the Bulgarian Renaissance in the late 19th century. The tour begins with the Lyuben Karavelov Museum, the Georgi Benkovski Museum, the house of Dimcho Debelyanov and the house of Todor Kableshkov. Then we will visit the Church of the Assumption, St. Cyril and Methodius Church – the first class school in Bulgaria (1837), the commemorative plaque, the Stone Bridge “First Gun” and others. There is time for lunch and leisure.

Panagyurishte is primarily known for being the center of the April Uprising against the Ottoman rule in Bulgaria in 1876. It was capital of the Fourth Revolutionary District which was the main center of the rebellion. The uprising was bloodily suppressed after 10 days of declared freedom, and the town was burnt down and almost completely destroyed by the Ottoman Turks.
