Two-day trip program:

Day 1 – Pick up from address and travel 2:30 h. to the town of Melnik

Melnik is the smallest town in Bulgaria, its population is about 250 inhabitants. Located in the southwestern part of our country, near the Greek border, and is between the hills of Pirin and Belasitsa. The city is surrounded by magnificent and impressive earth pyramids. It is declared a cultural and historical reserve and a city-museum. The area is inhabited by the Thracian tribe Medi, of which is the great ruler of the Roman slaves Spartak.

The Rozhen Monastery is situated 5 km away from Melnik in the lower parts of Pirin, with exceptional views of the peaks of Pirin and Belasitsa, as well as the popular Melnik Pyramid hills formed by erosion of clay soil. The monastery is the largest abbey in the Pirin region and second largest after the Rila in Bulgaria. According to the annals, it was created in the far 890 years.

In the evening at 19:00 accommodation at the Friends Hotel – one overnight with dinner and breakfast + SPA center in hotel.

Day 2 – After breakfast, you can visit the central part of Bansko – a church, a shopping street with shops, museums

Bansko is a town in southwestern Bulgaria, located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains at an elevation of 927 m above sea level. It is a popular ski resort. According to one legend, Bansko was founded by people who lived in Dobarsko, a village in Rila, itself, according to another legend, founded by the blinded army of Tsar Samuil. Still according to another version, it was a Slavic tribe called the Peruns, who lived in Pirin and worshiped Perun, that founded the village later to become a town. Bansko is was a part of the Byzantine Empire was added to Bulgaria during the reign of Khan Krum, most probably around 811 AD, and passed back and forth between Byzantines and Bulgarians for the next few centuries, before control fell to the Ottomans in the 14th century.
